 I have mounds, tubs, and drawers full of silver scraps in all shapes and forms.  Dust, filings, spirals, corners, wire, failed projects..... I want to reuse my scrap and make fresh stock from it. This is one of many projects at the bench this week.Agate butterfly wings to become a pendant.When finished, this piece heads to the Salty Teacup in Portland, OR.Recycled silver body and head.The sterling wing bases were hand pierced.Ready to solder.Soldering completed!Freshly soldered prongs.If all goes well, I'll have the finished piece ready to post tomorrow evening.

New dot pendants with 22k gold bezel set gemstones.The dots are 100% recycled sterling scraps from my own ever growing collection. Once upon a time, I fancied myself a contemporary art jeweler. I designed and created one of a kind jewelry that incorporated nickel silver, 18k,and sparkly gemstones. The juxtaposition between nickel and gold inspired this jeweler to no end. I just arrived safely from the busiest week ever. I've chronicled parts in photos...A holiday open house last Saturday. 50+ folks and kids joined us to kick off the season with nibbles, punch and a glass or two of wine. My first outside, 2 day show...all over! Honestly, I am exhausted. For that reason, I will be short with words today. Friday: set up... slanted venue, horrendous parking, lack of direction, forgotten tools. I am amused at the technical differences between my "collections". This pendant has been kicking around for a while. I made it for Maine Team's winter challenge. It was ok...but lacked the grittiness I like in my work....you know, oxidation to the sterling, scraps, bumps, and bruises. And I really detested this chain.
