I Like Lichen









My daughter hunted for treasure in my folks' backyard.
She searched for snail shells.
I joined her on her quest.
This is what I found.
Live oak twigs encrusted with lichen and air plants.

Nature provides us with the coolest treasure,
wouldn't you agree?

    Beautiful photography. I like lichen as it makes the most wonderful colors when used as a dye source for wool. I'm still on the eternal hunt for the variety of lichen that gives a purple dye.
